However, Twitter didn't take too kindly to one image and outright suspended their account from Twitter. It's an absolute travesty. If you'd like to know more and perhaps make your voice heard, read on for more of the insanity within.
So, Jen and Sylvia Soska have an account on Twitter @twisted_twins and to promote their upcoming remake of Rabid while sharing Arrow Video's FrightFest banner (see below) which features some special f/x work from their film. And well, Twitter have temporarily suspended their account at a most critical time, when they're doing all they can to raise awareness for their film, which isn't a big-budget studio film by-the-way.
For me it's absolutely bizarre. But you have to hand it to the effects team, Master FX, they've obviously made something so convincing that perhaps the powers that be at Twitter assumed that it's a real injury? But if that's the case, why would it be grouped with images of other films? The mind boggles.
Too extreme for Twitter? Or one rule for some and another for the rest? Either way, this can be turned into great publicity, "Rabid; the film that was TOO extreme for Twitter." They should have that plastered on all the posters and home video release. I'd buy it. Heck, that's why I bought all those Vipco releases all those years ago when they'd plaster "Previously Banned" with a great big red X on most of their releases.
So, Sylvia Soska took to her Facebook page and announced the following;
As Jen & Sylvia are handcuffed over at Twitter and are unable to help spread the word for their Rabid remake, it would be awesome if you could help get he word out. If you haven't check out the official Rabid trailer below.Got suspended from Twitter for this image (see above) - I’m blaming and thanking you, Masters FX for your brilliant work.Bad timing because we have a movie to publicize. If the MPAA had no problem with this image, Rue Morgue and Fangoria had it on their covers.Please be #Rabid in our absence as we await our claim to be processed.
