What does horror mean to you?

So I thought I would do something slightly different, it's nearly Halloween and I thought I would explain what horror means to me.

I have always felt slightly odd, against the mold if you will.

My first ever horror I watched was Fright Night, I was 8 at the time and I had never seen anything like this. I used to watch goosebumps and tales of the crypt keeper but this started my love of horror. At the time I was just excited by watching something I shouldn't.

When I began my teenage years that was a really tough time, as I wasn't really understood at school, always bullied but horror was an outlet for me, an escape from the real world.

Horror for me is Disney for some people, it's a chance for me to escape, go on a bit of a thrill ride. I also find the horror community one of the friendliest places to be, its a chance to be us, as we can't always bring horror into our day to day lives with work, home life etc.

If you are on Instagram Claires_crafty_corner_ is amazing, she has inspired me to no end with Halloween decorations.

I particularly related to the girls who were known as the "weirdo's" although not technically a horror but The craft really spoke to me. I felt like I wasn't alone.

Horror brings people together as you can feel vulnerable but having a moment on the sofa hiding under a blanket. That is romance to me.

I also find horrors can be more romantic than romantic films.

One example is Bram Stoker's Dracula, Gary Oldmans portrayal of Dracula is outstanding, he exudes sexiness and the love he shows for mona shows no bounds.

Horror is a huge part of my life now and I will always love it and get captivated by the characters, it will always be my escape and I don't think that's a bad place to be.

The film is set for two special screenings in LA later this month, but if you're unable to witness the film at one of these screenings, you'll be able to catch the film On Demand and DVD this November.

Within we have the official trailer, artwork and details for one of my most anticipated films this year. If you've seen either of Oberst of Moseley's work, you'll know that this will be a not to be missed film.

No escape from the grass.

I have always enjoyed reading and lately i have been reading a lot more than usual, currently reading The Crucifix killer by Chris Carter, otherwise its anything by Stephen King, most recently Misery.

So I was incredibly excited to hear about Stephen king and Joe Hills novella making its way onto our screens through streaming giant Netflix.
Stephen King and his son Joe hill, wrote the novella together and it was originally published in two parts in 2012 for Esquire magazine.

The film is closely based on the book and has been written and directed by Vincenzo Natali, it had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 20th this year, its scheduled release for Netflix is October 4th.

One of the main actors in the movie is Insidious actor Patrick Wilson who will portray Ros Humboldt.
Patrick Wilson Insidious Chapter Two

Other cast members joining Patrick are;

Laysla De Oliveira ~ Becky Demuth

Avery Whitted ~ Cal Demuth

Rachel Wilson ~ Natalie Humboldt

Produced by none other than James Wan, who is most famous for directing Saw and creating its iconic puppet Billy. He also directed Dead silence (2017), Insidious (2010) and The conjuring (2013). The directive duties are taken up by Simon McQuiod his directorial debut of a feature film, he mainly directed adverts in Australia, I cant wait to see what he does with this much loved game and movie franchise.

Mortal kombat has always been a huge part of my life the immortal words of "finish him/her" spring to mind, along with many iconic phrases from some of the most bad ass characters in gaming history, the likes of Scorpions'- " get over here" or the words of the almighty Raiden "There are fates far worse than death"

When the first film was released in 1995 I think most of the gaming universe was excited for this gaming franchise to become a movie reality, despite a few negative reviews i really enjoyed this adaptation. I enjoyed seeing my favourite bad ass character come to life, Kitana played by Talisa Soto.

I am incredibly excited to see what happens to this franchise, with James Wans' background I do feel that the fatalities and original goriness of the games will play a part in this film. with all that being said lets get on to the casting choices.

Joe Taslim  - Subzero
