Top Five Horror Vixens for 2013

Considering the horror genre is full of blood, violence and copious amounts of exploitation its a wonder that such beauties would be drawn to something too sinister, but that's exactly why I love them. Women have always been in horror, but sadly there was a time and in some cases they are still being overlooked, but you'd be absolutely barking mad to miss these horror vixens. Not only are my top five (well six, as I have twins, yep! Bodacious horror twins, is anything better than that!?) absolutely stunning, but they have the talent to boot.

Here is my top five predictions for 2013, I can see these women having a truly awesome year in 2013 and become a huge deal, more so than they are now. So without further-ado, I introduce my five horror vixens (in no particular order) for 2013, just remember, try and keep the drool away from the monitor.

 Melantha Blackthorne:

Well folks what can I say? Blonde hair, blue eyes, copious amounts of cleavage, Blackthorne certainly has the Hollywood look, but don't let that fool you, Melantha is horror down to the bone. A true workhorse for the genre, she has clawed her way from the very bottom and now she is a well known name in the indie horror community. Also, she has dabbled in mainstream flicks as well, proving yet again that Melantha is the whole fucking show.

As well as having 20+ features under her belt, the future looks very good for this horror vixen, what with such films as Go Go Girls vs the Nazis, Dracula's War and Death House Dolls in production just to name a few, Melantha is a sort after commodity and one I will enjoy watching for many years to come. Watch this space guys, Melantha Blackthorne WILL be a household name for horror fans if she isn't already.

Kaylee Williams:

Many of you may not know her name, but as soon as I sound of some of her work, Slices of Life, Porkchops and Psycho Street to name but a few, you will soon remember just who Kaylee Williams is. Again, Kaylee is not just another pretty face, she has the balls to unleash horror on us all and it doesn't look like she is slowing down anytime soon.

Williams has a slew of projects in the works such as, Porkchop 3D, Urban Legends and Feeding on Fear, 2013 looks set to be a killer year for the actress/producer, and I for one cannot wait to see what else she has for us.

Don't you just love this freakin' genre!? Thank you Kaylee Williams for the horror!

Tara Cardinal:

Red hair, an angel-like face, its enough to make any mortal human (male or female) to fall at the knees, Cardinal is absolutely stunning and yet another reason why the genre is a breeding ground for awesome talent. Cardinal is quickly becoming a well known name since she first burst on the scene just a few years ago back in 2006.

And to think that she already has 20+ features under her belt, not bad at all, but judging by her talents its no wonder she has become a sort after property. Keep your eyes on such upcoming films as The Profane Exhibit, Zombie Massacre and Spreading Darkness for the wonderful Tara Cardinal. I will tell you right now, 2013 is going to be huge!

Jen & Sylvia Soska:

I simply could not put a list of horror vixens together without including the Soska Twins, these horror beauties are one of the main reason why I love this genre. Originality. These girls know how to deliver the darker things in life and they do it while pulling you in for the fatal blow.

The Soska Twins first burst onto the scene with the critically acclaimed flick, Dead Hooker in a Trunk and have since exploded within the genre, I guarantee you cannot go to a horror forum without seeing these two pop up, these girls are absolutely hot at the moment and I'm not just talking about their appearance.

American Mary has received glowing reviews around the horror-verse, and their world domination continues as the film has been picked up in multiple territories around the world, you'd be an absolute fool to not check these twins out. 2013 will be the year of the Soska Twins prepare for the horror folks.

Devanny Pinn:

Last and by no means least is Devanny Pinn, an absolutely stunning model and an even better actress. Pinn is not one to be taken lightly, while she may only be in her early twenties she has starred in a slew of horror features and continues to do just that.

Pinn has become a well known name within the indie community, I first laid my eyes upon the actress in Wolfgang Meyer's brutal Song of the Shattered (the same film in which Cardinal above starred), and I have been a true follower and devotee ever since, Pinn is the real deal folks, don't be swayed by her stunning looks, horror is etched deep within Devanny Pinn.

You need to keep your eyes open as 2013 will be absolutely huge, what with such projects on the horizon as  Room and Board, The Black Dahlia Haunting and The Devil's Nightmare to name just a small segment, and the films keep on rising.

Without the talents of actresses like those above and the hundreds more, the genre would not be what it is today, so support indie horror as this is the grassroots where originality runs free and rampant and it certainly is an awesome time to be a genre fan.

So that's that, who are your top five for 2013?
