First Look at 'ICON: The Robert Englund Story'

When it comes to horror, there is one name that appears to be synonymous with the genre and that is Robert Englund, and it's with very good reason. Robert probably introduced nearly all of us into the wonderful world of horror with his portrayal of the dream demon Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven's 1984 classic A Nightmare On Elm Street, and in doing so firmly cemented his rightful place.

But there is so much more to the classically trained actor than just the mask, glove and red and green stripped jumper. And that's where Dead Mouse Productions Ltd and Cult Screenings UK Ltd come in. They are set to unleash an extensive look at the man behind the mask in ICON: The Robert Englund Story, and you can find out more within.
The documentary, which is a fully independent retrospective, looks and charts Robert Englund's early days in TV and Film while further exploring his current status in the horror universe. It will feature exclusive interviews with Robert as well as being supported by a slew of actors and crew who have worked with Robert through the years such as; Eli Roth, Corey Taylor, Adam Green, Dennis Christopher, Kane Hodder, Heather Langenkamp, Miko Hughes, Stephen Geoffreys, Ken Kirzinger, and Robert Kurtzman, with many more to be announced.

The project comes from the same people who gave us such previously awesome documentaries such as Leviathan: The Story of Hellraiser and Hellbound: Hellraiser II, You're so cool, Brewster! The Story of Fright Night and RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop and Pennywise: The Story of IT, so you know that this one is in very capable hands.

ICON currently has an Indiegogo page setup which comes with a slew of glorious perks, so go and take a gander and check out how you can help make this become a reality. Even if you can't support the campaign financially, a simple share means more than you might think.

They also have a Facebook page for you guys to 'like' to keep up-to-date with all the goings-on and such. So, what do you guys make of this so far? Is this something you'd like to see come to fruition? Let me know.
