Being a huge fan of Hellraiser and simply seeing a a brief preview of some guy with his skin peeled off, I knew I was about to watch something truly awesome and that's exactly the case with Ben Aston's grid film project He Took His Skin Off For Me. The short is shot so well and the story simply comes together. It's basically a fairy-tale, a tale of love and romance with copious amounts of the red stuff thrown in for good measure. I would call this a horror short, but I believe it is really in the eye of the beholder. Either way, this is an awesome short, so make your way below and check out some original talent.
The short is based upon the short story by Maria Hummer, I believe they have done that justice. Not only that but they managed to get SFX legend Colin Arthur (NeverEnding Story, 2001: A Space Odyssey) and SFX Supervisor Jen Cardno and her team on-board to create the awesome practical effects. Oh yes, not one ounce of CGI is found here.
Below the short, we also have some behind-the-scenes footage that some of you might be interested in seeing.
