First Official Trailer for Jen & Sylvia Soska's 'Rabid' Remake

The Soska twins, Jen and Sylvia are a directing duo that have truly been making a name for themselves. They went out and turned their dream into a reality and it has been so much fun to watch, as they have given us such gems as Dead Hoooker in a Trunk and American Mary.

With each passing film they add something new, different and you can see their growth as filmmakers. And I urge you to check out some of their work. So, being that they're HUGE fans of David Cronenberg, as am I, they had the pleasure to create a remake of his 1977 film Rabid, and a new official trailer has made its way out which you can find within.
The trailer looks great, it's polished and the story appears to be fully updated for a whole new audience. I'm pretty stoked for this as I loved Cronenberg's Rabid, but this one looks like they've taken the idea, payed homage to the master and also created something a little different. Good stuff.

The film stars Laura Vandervoort, Stephen McHattie, Ben Hollingsworth, Mackenzie Gray, Hanneke Talbot, and former WWE superstars CM Punk and AJ Mendez.

SynopsisWhat happens when you realize that to achieve your dreams you have to live a nightmare? Rose is a quiet, demure, unassuming woman in her looks and actions. Her dream is to become a famous designer in the fashion world, but a terrible accident leaves Rose scarred beyond recognition. She seeks out a radical untested stem cell treatment. The treatment is nothing short of a miracle and wallflower Rose turns into the belle of the ball. It all seems to good to be true. She is now everything she wanted to be. But everything in life comes at a price and this new-found perfect life is no exception.

It has also been announced that Rabid will be making its world premiere at London’s horror film festival Frightfest, which takes place between August 22nd and 26th at the Cineworld Leicester Square and The Prince Charles Cinema.
