Will You Say His Name 5 times?

                  I have recently heard of the remake of 90s horror Candyman due to be released next year.
                                                    


 Jordan Peele has taken over writing duties,


 he is most known for Get Out 2017






 and Us 2019




with that in mind I thought I would revisit the original.

Candyman is based on Clive Barker's short story"The forbidden", it was released in 1992 in the US, 1993 elsewhere.




The story revolves around graduate student Helen Lyle (Virginia Madsen) who is completing a thesis on Urban Legends and comes across the legend of Candyman, who appears in the form of a man with a hook for a hand. Although he only appears when his name is spoken 5 times in front of a mirror. Helen who is slightly sceptical, tries this and ultimately seals her fate as the demonic Candyman is unleashed.
