The Return of the Werewolf in The Beast

The werewolf is unfortunately one of the more forgot about monsters despite being well known. I'm sure you have seen the influx of vampire flicks over the years and more recently the rise in the zombie, but how about the absolute beast that is the werewolf? Its kind of brushed aside and hardly heard of again, if it is, then its absolutely destroyed and made a mockery of. What ever happened to the like's of John Landis' An American Werewolf in London? The practical effects, the intense brutality of the beast, its pretty much non existent, thankfully our voice has been heard.

Recently the werewolf has been popping up in horror short films which has once again recaptured the true essence of the werewolf. The most recent is Peter Dukes' The Beast which stars current genre fave and absolute badass, Bill Oberst, Jr, Below you can find their film short film The Beast, and believe me when I say it is awesome!

Its a truly beautiful piece of filmmaking along with outstanding performances which is crying out for a feature length version. I absolutely love it and I think you guys will too, embrace the true werewolf and support indie horror, get Hollywood to take notice that we don't want lame werewolves with 'sparkling' vampires. We want the beast to be a beast and cause horror. Anyway, I encourage you to check out the short below, and hit up the filmmakers to let them know they are doing an outstanding job.
