It's no secret. I despise CGI. Sure it has its place. Especially in big Hollywood blockbusters and in some instances it can help smaller films polishing off some effects, but usually in horror they suck. It's just not for me, I'd rather some would just use ketchup and fling that across the screen, at least it's real.
But, there are some guys still keeping the traditions alive. Practical effects are still making the rounds and thankfully Doug Roos' upcoming apocalyptic zombie flick is all practical effects, not a single ounce of CGI will be found and it's awesome!
So, make your way inside and check out the oozing bloody goods in the form of the official trailer for the film.
The Sky Has Fallen stars Carey MacLaren, Laurel Kemper, Cory Knisely, Shannon Gregory, and Doug Steward.
Synopsis: Within a couple of hours a new plague wipes out almost all of the world’s population. Trying to avoid infection, people flee to remote locations, but they start seeing mysterious black figures carrying away the dead and experimenting on them. Now Lance and Rachel, two survivors determined to fight back, must kill the leader of these creatures before the rest of humanity disappears.
The film has already been released on Amzon.com for $19.99, but the guys behind the film have taken to Kickstarter once again to fully promote the film and get it out there. So you're probably thinking, well why do I need to help with Kickstarter if it's already released?
Good question. Well, if you pledge through Kickstarter, not only will you get the DVD at a reduced cost, I believe it's $15, but it also includes free shipping and much more. Even some perks give you an iMDB credit and a shout-out in the credits!
