'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' is Making a Comeback

Man, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes isn't even a guilty pleasure, I freakin' love those films. Such a fun franchise, which spawned books, comic books, video games and one absolutely awesome cartoon series in the '90s.

The Killer Tomatoes literally took the world by storm and then, vanished. Straight into obscurity and sadly never too be mentioned again.

In the past few years there have been rumors circulating, but sadly nothing has come to fruition in regards to the franchise.

But just when I thought I'd given up hope for more Killer Tomatoes, a reboot sneaks through the cracks and it's actually filming. Right. Now!

Details are incredibly slim at the moment, but indie film-making legend Dustin Ferguson (Silent Night, Bloody Night 2: Revival, Meathook Massacre) is set to direct a reboot of The Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, and he is directing the first attack scene for the upcoming reboot.

Ferguson revealed the news on his Facebook page earlier today;
Today I Direct the first attack scene for the "Attack of The Killer Tomatoes" reboot!!! This has been a long time coming and I couldn't be more honored!
If you're at the San Diego Comic Convention this weekend, keep your eyes peeled as Ferguson and his team have a booth promoting the reboot.

Also, while I'm here, go like the Facebook page for Direct to Video: Straight to Video Horror of the 90's, it's an upcoming documentary that Ferguson is working on. It looks and sounds absolutely killer! Ferguson is an absolute workhorse and we can't wait to see what he has in store for us with his Killer Tomatoes reboot and this highly intriguing documentary.
